Way 'Out There' art exhibition featured new works by Fremantle artist Martin Phillips

Community and the arts combine in successful 'Out There' exhibtion

The successful 'Out There' combined exhibition was hosted by Atwell Art Gallery from 27th October to 2nd November 2014 and featured new pieces by Fremantle artist Martin Phillips.  Joint sponsorship between the Group and Rotary Club of Fremantle allowed Martin to spend the past two years composing and preparing his artwork to culminate in the exhibition opening attended by over 150 people.

Artwork from previous initiatives of the Group was also on display including pieces by teachers and participants of Artists by the River as well as the residential art program.  The Out There exhibition represents another in a growing repertoire of Fairholme sponsored projects which promote the Count Me In vision for all people to live in welcoming communities that facilitate citizenship, friendship and a fair go for everyone.

In addition to Martin's display, the Group was delighted to welcome and showcase designs by David Mitchell - particularly his work in developing the Swan Spirit Story to further progress the State's Count Me In vision as well as encouraging people to connect with the enviornment, promoting the wisdom of aboriginal culture and to further define the West Australian identity based on values.

A big congratulations and well done to Martin for his dedication and perseverance in acheiving his artistic goals!
